The School of Management, at GD Goenka University offers high quality education in diverse areas of Management at undergraduate and postgraduate levels with an objective to build a generation of leaders and entrepreneurs. The School aims to collaborate and benchmark its systems and processes to match the best educational institutions in the world and to become a center for advanced research in the discipline of Management. It has collaborated with British Standards Institution (BSI), a leading global independent business services organization that develops standards to help business and industry for the delivery of specialized courses in Management Systems and Business Performance Programmes. It has also collaborated with KPMG who will provide training in ‘KPMG Course for Accounting Professionals’ to the students of B.Com (Hons) and BBA. The course is primarily structured to develop students’ knowledge and understanding of concepts and principles of latest accounting practices and their application in national and international market arena. The school has set up a Centre of Excellence in Supply Chain Management and Logistics in collaboration with The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), a leading U.K. based professional body. The centre would bring together the competencies and skills of experts from all over the world and CILT would provide technical know-how and support to the centre through research, consultancy and training.
The intellectually stimulating learning environment provided at the School, facilitates the holistic development of students. The courses are designed to expose the students to the contemporary management practices along with theoretical constructs, emphasizing on learning by doing, live projects, case studies, continuous industry interface and research. In addition to this, in each semester at both undergraduate and post graduate level, the students are required to undertake a multi-disciplinary project. The students are offered a variety of optional courses that would enrich their knowledge and learning experience at the university. The school helps in training students in tune with the changing business environment and emerging management needs. Thus, the curriculum integrates classroom education with experiential learning.
Besides the core Management courses, specialization in General Management, Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Management, International Business, Operations & Supply Chain Management, Information Management and Retail Management are offered by the school. The school course structure also offers a variety of subjects to help students design their own programmes. The students have the option of customizing their course and specialization according to the industry trends and needs as well as their family business requirements or for an entrepreneurial venture.
